As a child, some of my fondest memories were of playing with the farm kittens, dressing our old dog in human clothes, and riding a naughty little Shetland pony.  The thought of children losing out on childhood memories like mine truly breaks my heart.  The animal rights movement has a secret agenda and it is to eliminate animal ownership altogether.

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is NOT an organization of humane societies and they do not approve of animal shelters.

Horse owners I know are disgusted with the hypocrisy of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).  They remember the "PETA Corpse Freezer" fiasco and have done their homework.  The true missions of PETA are 1) to promote vegetarianism, and 2) to destroy individuals who enjoy animal companionship or those who make a living from them.  PETA makes a huge amount of money exploiting animals and the uninformed.  They take advantage of those who are willing to send them their hard-earned dollars because the contributors believe their contributions are helping animals.  Truth be told, if PETA had their way, there would be no horse industry.  Period.

There are people in the bigger cities of the United States that believe milk comes from grocery stores.  Seriously, they do not know milk comes from cows.

The HSUS spent over $120 million in 2011.  Their goals include putting ranchers and others out of business.

Unfortunately, there is a segment that believes it is a crime to make a living from animals.  How sad.

Animal rights activists have vowed they will stop at nothing to accomplish their goals.

Extremists believe eating animals for nutrition is morally wrong...yet I've seen some wearing leather shoes!

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) has agreed to pay $9.3 million to the owners of two circuses.  The original litigation has been described as an attempt to destroy a family owned business.

The "paid plaintiff" in that ASPCA settlement for $9.3 million was a former employee of the circus whose testimony was untruthful.

Surely they wouldn't attack the horse industry???

Oh really?  Wow!  Where have you been?  You are naive.

"PETA activists masquerade as saviors of puppies and kittens but, in fact, theirs is a radical, militant organization that opposes virtually any solution to the real threats by the African people." ~Tony Makris

"And PETA will slander and smear the good name of anyone who doesn't fit it's 'Lion King' fantasy."  ~Tony Makris

Animal owners need to be aware of the hidden agenda behind activities conducted by groups like the HSUS.  The animal rights movement in America, led by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), has evolved into a wealthy and successful attack group deternined to end the consumption of meat, eliminate hunting, outlaw rodeos, and circuses, and even ban animal ownership (including pets) altogether.  Protect the Harvest was created to fight back and defend American families, farmers, hunters and animal owners from the growing threat posed by the radical animal rights movement.  For more information, visit www.protecttheharvest.com.

"We are going to use the ballot box and the democratic process to stop all hunting in the United States.  We will take it species by species until all hunting is stopped in California.  Then we will take it state by state."  ~Wayne Pacelle, President and CEO, HSUS
